Low, Jr.. Louisa Low(b/Sept/15/1837-d/Nov/2/1909) , is buried in
Sharp Cemetery, Cove Lake Park.
Lacy Levi and Louisa ADKINS, lived at Montgomery, in Scott Co TN.,
for several years. In 1886 he left Scott County, and moved upriver
into Campbell County, and bought 376 acres of land from Goldman
Kennedy for two thousand dollars.
The tract was from the branch below the Beechfork Baptist
Church following Beech Fork Creek on both sides down to almost
the mouth of Beech Fork Creek, where it empties into New River,
Part of the tract was in woods and the rest was fertile bottom land.
Lacy and Louisa had a General Store where their son-in-law,
Alfred Cross used to live. Later, Lacy Levi built a two store
house about where Fred Ward now lives (1991). His store was
on the ground floor. They lived in the second story.
Aug 21, 1900, Lacy Levi wrote his will bequeathing
his money and property to his seven children. Columbus,
Samantha Jane, Sarah, Martha, Marlena and Elizabeth.
According to the provisions of the will, each child was
to receive one thousand dollars or the equivalent in
real estate. The Will is recorded in Book D, Page 120,
Campbell Co., Records, Jacksboro, Tn.
Lacy Levi, Sr. died Sep 7, 1900 and was buried in
Riverview Cemetery, Smokey Junction, Tn.
After Lacy Levi died, Louisa and her son, Columbus
moved to Caryville and bought land, each bought ninety
acres, for one thousand dollars per tract. The tract
which Columbus bought is now owned by Ed Claibourne.
It is near Lakeview Church and bordered by Bruce Creek.
Louisa often visited her daughter Samantha Jane, at Beechfork.
Samantha was cleaning in the attic of the old log house she
had received as a child's part of Lacy Levi's property.
While dusting, she tried to move an old coffee pot out of
the way but it was too heavy. Further examination revealed
that the coffee pot was full of money. It had been left
behind when Lacy and Louisa had moved to the two story
log house which they had built. The pot full of money
was given to Louisa and she took it with her back to
Caryville, Tenn.
