THE NEW RIVER DAUGHERTY'S

There were so many Daughertys on New River with the same first name in the
1900's that they were given nicknames by the people of New River to tell them
apart, only a few nicknames are mentioned in this writing.

The New River Daugherty's are Irish;  Other spellings are Dougherty,  Darity,
Doherty,  O'Doherty, O'Dochartaigh.   The 0'Dochartaigh name came from
Raphoe Barony County, Donegal(Ireland).
