HOMECOMINGS ON NEW RIVER:  CHURCHS AND CEMETERY.
A historical memorial service is held annually, from Spring to Fall,
with mountain singing and dinner on the grounds,  at the following
locations. Public is invited.  usually starts at 10 AM on a Sunday.
It is requested that the public bring food and flowers.
Information may not be correct, contact someone to be sure of date.


BEECH FORK Church, Cemetery. Homecoming: Sun in June after 3rd Sat.
Location: Welchs Camp; Beside Beech Fork RD. New River Area, Ca- Co TN.
Directions: At Caryville TN; Take Mountain road up mountain, at top of
mountain, road changes to Beech Fork RD, Follow to Church.


BEECH GROVE Church.  Homecoming, 3rd Sunday in Sept.
Location: Fork Mt., Hwy 116, And-Co., TN.
Directions: At Lake City TN; Follow 116 to New River and Church.


BULLOCK CEMETERY.  Homecoming date:  1st Sun in June.
DIRECTIONS: Mountain Rd from Caryville, up mountain;
Turns into Beech Fork RD on opposite side of mountain:
Past abandoned, PEE WEE Coal Tipple, turn left at George
Seiber residence onto dirt road, across Beech Fork Creek,
up mountain. A 4 wheel drive auto is needed and a guide.
No bridge across creek.


BYRGE CEMETERY:   Homecoming:  1st Sun in September.
Location: At HWY 116 New River bridge, on west side of bridge,
turn onto dirt road, go downriver, about 1/4 mi, turn left up mountain
the road ends on side of mountain at Cemetery. A 4 wheel drive and
guide is needed. A small picnic shelter is provided.


CLINCHMORE Church.
Location: New River Area. Old Clinchmore Coal Community.
Campbell County TN.


CUMBERLAND Mountain (SWAG) Last Sun in Sept.
Location: Far into the Boonedocks, about 6 miles from Lake City;
Near the top of Vowell Mt.
Directions; Hwy 116 from Lake City, turn up Beech Grove,
across Creek and RR tracks, turn left up mountain, the last two miles
is dirt rd. Church has no electricity, a generator is brought by residents.
Church is held here weekly.  And-Co., TN.


FORK MOUNTAIN Church.  Homecoming: 1st Sunday in Sept 10 am.
Church Worship Service 2pm Sunday.


FREE Communion Church Homecoming: last Sun in Sept.
Location: Hwy 116, New River. Anderson County TN.


GRAVE GAP Church.
Location: hwy 116 Grave Gap Mountain.


GRAVE HILL Church and Cemetery;   1st Sunday in June.
Location: Hwy 116 New River Stainville, TN.


NICKS CREEK Church and Cemetery. Homecoming:  1st Sun in July.
Location: From Shea TN; Go downriver, toward Smokey Jct, 3 miles,
at Nicks Creek, dividing line of Scott, Campbell CO TN.


PHILLIPS CEMETERY, AT SHEA TN. Homecoming Date: last Sun in May.
Memorial Service is held inside Fellowship Baptist Church At Shea.
Cemetery is on the hill behind Church.


RED OAK Mountain Church:  2nd Sun June, always.
Far into the Boonedocks, Church is held here in the spring and
summer months, usually at 2pm on Sunday.  No electricity.
A generator for lights is brought by residents.
Location:  On top of Red Oak Mountain.
Directions: HWY 116 at New River County Bridge, go toward
Lake City, about 1/8 mi turn left up mountain on the strip pit rd,
to the top of mountain, watch for signs.


RIVERVIEW Church and Cemetery, Sun in June after 2nd Saturday.
Location:  Smokey Junction, Scott CO TN.


ROCK HILL Church.


ROUND ROCK Church.
Location: Pee Wee, New River Area, Campbell Co., TN.


STRAIGHT FORK Church.  3rd Sun September.
Hwy 63 Scott Co TN.


SHILOH Church:  Homecoming: 2nd Sun in August.
Location: Fork Mountain, Hwy 116, New River.  And-Co., TN.


Old Smokey Church and Cemetery:  Sun in  June, after 4th Sat.


PATTERSON CEMETERY; Homecoming date  ?
Location; Off Hwy 116, New River Area, And-Co., TN.


TIOGA Cemetery:  Homecoming: Easter Sun  6 am sunrise service.
Location: Fork Mountain, Hwy 116.  And-Co., TN.


TOMMY PHILLIPS Cemetery, 1st Sun in June or following the
next Sun after Grave Hill Church Homecoming.
Location: Stainville, New River Area, Hwy 116.
