(married into Sterling Kennedy generation from New River, who settled at Marlow).

Culpepper County, Va, s/o James and Agnes Jones.
James(b/1797) md 2/1813 in Wayne Co, Ky, to Margaret Dobbs(b/1798) in NC.
When James Jones, Jr. lived in Jones Holler near Ritner, Ky, at the same
time, two other families lived there Bakers and Worleys. They married and
intermarried for several years.
James JONES JR., died 6/27/1857, of Typhoid Fever. buried in Jones Holler.

Cleveland C JONES was in the 1870 Census, Scott County TN.
Cleveland C JONES moved from Ritner KY., to north Scott CO TN.
Cleveland C. had 170 acres of land on Roaring Pounch Creek, Scott CO TN.
Cleveland C JONES was in the 1880 Census, Campbell Co TN.
Cleveland C JONES, His younger sister, Margaret Jones (Owens) Worley,
bought 100 acres of land from Milton Phillips(12/16/1879) in the left head
of Little Creek. the land they were living on when the 1880 Census was taken.
Cleveland C JONES next lived at the mouth of Cages Creek in Anderson Co.
The old PODOPHLINE PO was also at this location. Mail was sent in by
horseback until it closed 4/17/1917, afterwards, mail was sent to Rosedale PO
by the RR mail bus from Oneida. The new Railroad was finished and opened up
from Oneida TN., to bring out the coal and timber.

7/25/1872, he married William Seiber to Elizabeth Bunch.
Reverend Jim Phillips stated in an interview in 1986, that his grandfathers,
Milton Phillips and Lorenzy "Ell" Kennedy were personally acquainted with
Cleveland C. Jones when he lived at Cages Creek.
CLEVELAND JONES died January 1883 and was buried in the Beech Fork
Cemetery, Beech Fork RD(New River)C-CO TN.
December 4, 1885, Jemima JONES and four children, Pollie, Richard,
Harvey, and Samuel, purchased 100 acres of land on Red Oak Mountain from
her son-in-law and daughter, James and Telitha Phillips, for $100.
The deed was witnessed by Goldman Kennedy and James Jones.
3/21/1901, Jemima Jones sold this tract of land to Lucien Bird for $225.
Jemima lived with her son, Harve, on land leased from the land company
on Red Oak Mountain until her death in 1912.
Jemina was buried in the Jones Cemetery on Red Oak Mountain.
Telitha Jane and her daughter, was buried in the Boomer Jim Phillips Cemetery,
less than a half mile away on a lower bench of the mountain.
Jemina JONES, on 8/1894, widow of Clevland Jones md Eli WARD(1831-1897);
Jamina stayed one night with Eli and went back home on Red Oak Mountain,
the Campbell County Court granted her a divorce 11-2-1897. Eli died 16
March 1897, and was buried in the Beech Fork Cemetery.

Oscar was one of the finest historians in the country, he died in 1999. Legend
is Oscar was trained in the army to find people, he had a good memory and could
trace about anyone. Oscar helped in the history writings of; Caryville through
the years, and coal mining towns by Marshall McGhee; Also in the cemetery
records of Anderson Co., published by Mary Harris; Also cemetery records of
Campbell Co, published by Dorthy Bruce; Oscar did this as a hobby and not for
profit.
