In the Carroll-Adkins cemetery on Beech Fork Creek in the Stony Fork Community of Campbell County TN you will find: Rachel Thompson May 13 1870; John Tackett DC April 19 1856; Martin Kennedy June30 1849.
Family legend; Jonathan(John)1 Tackett Sr., born 1785 in Virginia, he migrated to Kentucky and into Scott County TN. A John Tackett is listed in the 1830 Pike Co.KY., Census.

John1 Tackett(1785-1856) md Nancy ?(1805-1849). John was believed to be a descendent of Lewis Tackett(1670-1744), born in France, was never naturalized as an English, an was subject to the King of France. He immigrated to Virginia about 1700, believed to be a Huguenot refugee, and received a Northern Neck Grant in 1710, book 4, P 45. He died at his home at Cedar Run having lived there for 34 yrs. The John Tackett who came to Scott Co TN is believed to be GG/son of Lewie & Mary Tackett from France.
JONATHAN(JOHN)1 TACKETT(1785-1856), 1st md Nancy?(1805-1849); 2nd md Rachel Ward(1811-1870), d/o Benjamin2 Ward JR and Elizabeth Harmon from Watauga CO, NC. John Tackett was born in VA, migrated to Paduch KY, and then to Scott Co Tn. His father is believed to be Rev Wm Sr(Billy)Tackett, and grandfather Phillip Tackett of East KY. (4) JOSEPH2 TACKETT(b/1835). Rebecca Tackett (1837-1895) buried in the Adkins Cemetery, between Cherry Bottom and Oak Grove; her stone says she is the wife of Joseph Tackett. Family Folklore; The Grisels from Sanoe France settled on top of Caryville MT, close to the present site of the firetower; One day a man was found froze to death under a cliff near the Grisel Home, he was wrapped in a blanket and buried in the Grisel Cemetery. He was believed to be Joe Tackett(there was more Joe Tackett's not sure which one).

Ike Tackett's widow Susan 2nd md Mike(MD)Ward(1857-1934), s/o Old Dukey and Barbara Patterson Ward. M.D., built a store at Genett's Camp(Stony Fork), on Ike's widows property, later they divorced; M.D., 2nd md Mirah Arthur.
(Family legend) Ike owned a large farm and was a cobbler by trade, he made shoes of hickory soles and leather tops, people came from near and far to work his farm in payment for shoes; Ike would make shoes for the entire family while they worked his farm, while whittling some of the soles, Ike accidently cut his thigh and died of the infection, widowing his wife Susan and three children; Susan then married Michael(MD)Ward who took over Ikes large farm built a store and divorced Susan; All the children got out of the farm was a new shirt. Issac(Ike)Tackett is buried beside his mother in an unmarked grave in the Carroll-Adkins Cemetery (D.L. Byrge).

(9c) Sallie A3 Tackett(1873-1930) (never married). Sallie had two children; Pryor Kennedy and Eli Byrge. Pryor Kennedy (1907-1953), was assumed to be the s/o Richmond Kennedy, s/o Ell; Or the son of Henry Byrge; He was raised by Old Ell and Jane Kennedy. Sallie, Pryor and Eli. are buried at Grave Hill Church. According to Newspaper Obituary, Sally had a child by Henry BYRGE, Namely Eli BYRGE(1903-2004). January 12, 2004 Eli Byrge has area relatives. Eli Byrge, 100, of Devonia, died Thursday, Jan. 8, 2004, at his home. Born July 9, 1903, in Devonia, he was the son of Henry and Sally Ann Tackett Byrge. Eli Byrge was retired from the Tennessee Railroad. and a member of Free Communion Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Willie Marie Reynolds Byrge, and by two brothers and three sisters. Mr. Byrge is survived by three sons, Cordis Gilbert Byrge of Devonia, Johnny Byrge and wife, Eva, of Oliver Springs, and Curtis Byrge of Oak Ridge; and by two daughters, Julie Byrge and Mary Daugherty, both of Devonia. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, George Randy Daugherty, Andy Duane Daugherty, Rhonda Marie Byrge and husband, Ellis, Peter Anthony Daugherty, Patton Lee Daugherty and wife, Brandi, Amy C. Reagan and husband, J.D., and Danny Byrge and wife, Gretchen; nine great-grandchildren, Tina Luckman, Cynthia LeAnn Daugherty, Chris Luckman, Adrianna Leigh Daugherty, Bryanna Renae Daugherty, Brandon Byrge, Jonathan Byrge, Madison Rose Byrge and Rebecca Marie Byrge; a special friend, Georgia Ann Phillips; a good riend, Maggie Lee Phillips; and by several other close friends.
FOLKLORE: Crescia Tackett was crippled she married a Mr Byrge; Sallie Ann did not marry, she lived with her sister and cared for her in her crippled state. Sallie had one child while living with her sister it went by the name of Byrge, Crescia could not walk very well, and had never been able to see a train, even though she could hear it in the valley below, Crescia died without fulfilling her wish to see the train she could hear(D.L.Byrge).

Rubens father Bird was killed in Civil War; His mother Cresia 2nd md Charles Phillips, s/o Claibourn, who adopted and raised Bird and his brother Ell.

(10) and (11) According to the 1860 Census of Campbell County John Tackett and Rachel Ward had two daughters; Namely Emaline (b/1853) and Louisa (b/1856).
1860 Census Campbell County TN: Thompson, Wm 60; Rachael 48; Martin 14; Loranza 13; Emaline 7; Issac 5; Louisa 4; John R 4/12. NOTE: Martin and Loranza are sons of Rachel and Martin T Kennedy: Emaline, Issac and Louisa are children of John Tackett and Rachel: John R is son of Rachel and Wm Thompson.
STORY OF RACHEL WARD KENNEDY TACKETT THOMPSON According to legend Rachel Ward was engaged to marry Henry Loveday in Watauga Co., NC. probably Valle Crucis Area; Henry died before the marriage, their son Eli Ward 1831-1897 was born in NC. Eli kept the name Ward and came west with his mother in 1840 to Scott Co TN, now Campbell Co, the boundry's were later changed. Rachel also had more sons namely; William Ward who is believed to be Wm Logan Ward(1834-1906) who md Eliza Jane Kesterson, Wm Logan and Eliza Jane are buried in the Beech Fork Cemetery; Rachel had another son named Old Dukey Ward(1837-1897). Buried in the Rains Grove Cemetery at Caryville; Dukey and Wm Logan father is believed to be also Henry Loveday; Eli Ward grandparents are confirmed in the bible records of his son Duke. Dukey and Wm Ward are confirmed as sons of Rachel Ward in the Civil War disability records of her son Sterling Kennedy. Henry Loveday's burial place is unknown. Rachel Ward is buried in Carroll- Adkins Cem., Campbell County, Shea, TN., with husbands, John Tackett and Martin Kennedy Sr.
RACHEL HAD 3 CHILDREN BY HENRY LOVEDAY, Namely: Eli Ward, Dukey Ward, Wm Logan Ward.

Rachel Ward in 1841 1st md Martin T Kennedy Sr.(1790-1849) from N.C. Martin's arrival in the New River Area was about 1824. Martin's 1st wife is unknown, CHILDREN; Jackson, Logan, Madison Sr. Martin md Lucy Davis in 1839, CHILDREN; Goldman. Martin 3rd md Rachel Ward, CHILDREN; Sterling, Martin JR and Lorenza (Ell). Jackson and Logan Kennedy were believed to be killed in the Civil War on the Confederate side. A family story is that Jake Kennedy (g/son of Old Ell Kennedy) made a trip to the Battlefield of Lookout Mt in Chattanooga, looking for some of his ancestors killed in the Civil War, it was stated that he was believed to find two of them.

JOHN 1 TACKETT AND 1ST WIFE NANCY. RACHEL3 WARD KENNEDY 1811-1870 AND JOHN1 TACKETT 1785-1856. After Martin T Kennedy died in 1849, Rachel 2nd md John Tackett in 1849 or 1850. John was from Virginia; Rachel and John had two sons, Mike and Ike Tackett.
Old John Tackett died and Rachel Ward Kennedy Tackett, his widow md 3rd to William Thompson(1800/1867) marriage date 8/5/1858. They had one child namely John R Thompson(b/1860).
According to some of the other historians William Thompson died and Rachel Ward Kennedy Tackett Thompson married 4th to W H Davis 5/2/1869 in Scott Co TN. Needs to be proven as the same Rachel.
