REV WILLIAM LOGAN1 WARD (1834-1906). By Henry C. Ward. Located east of Caryville Tennessee, on the opposite side of Caryville Mountain (Ash Log Mt.) beside the Beech Fork Rd, Beech Fork Church, in the upper right hand corner of the cemetery, is a tombstone marker with the inscriptions; Eliza J. Ward died 29th Sept, 1905, wife of Wm L. 65 yrs. On back side of stone: WM L. Ward died Jan. 25, 1906, age about 70 yrs. WM. Logan Ward's parents are believed to be Rachel Ward and Henry Loveday. Wm Logan Ward is easily confused with his uncle William Ward who also married a girl named Jane. They are also buried in Beech Fork Cemetery. Rev Wm Logan Ward and family, PICTURE Rev Wm Logan Ward Log Home, PICTURE WM Logans WARD'S Uncle named William (2f) William Ward. .......... The Civil War disability record of Sterling Kennedy, half brother of Eli Ward (1831-1897), states the blood ties of Eli Wards mother and his brothers. It lists William Ward and Duke Ward as a half brother; William is believed to be Wm Logan Ward(1834-1906); However this needs to be proven. There were several Wm Wards. Eli Ward(1831-1897) is buried near Wm Logan. Old Arthur Ward a descendent of Wm Logan stated before he died that WM L Ward, Duke Ward, and Eli Ward were not related; However there are too many clues that tie them as brothers. Old Eli Ward, Wm Logan Ward and Duke Ward were illigitimate children of Rachel Ward(1811-1870) buried in the Adkins Carroll Cemetery across the creek from Beech Fork Church. Rachel is the mother of the New River Kennedys, Tacketts and three sets of the Wards. .............
