STERLING KENNEDY( May 3, 1841--1905), Sterling may have had a middle name (LAWSON). s/o Martin T and Rachel WARD KENNEDY, 1st md Elizabeth Ward(b/1846) on 10/20/1860, his 1st cousin. CHILDREN: Izella(b/2/28/1864). Elizabeth Ward, was d/o William Ward, brother of Rachel Ward, Sterlings mother. Elizabeth and Sterling divorced in 1866; Elizabeth 2nd md Philips Seiber. In 1867 Sterling md Margaret WILSON(b/1844). Sterling served in CO I 7th Mtd Inf. and 2nd TN INF Union Army Civil War. He enlisted in Nov. 1864 and was discharged July 1865. Earlier in the War, he was captured for about 4 weeks by the Confederate Army and kept in prison at Knoxville, and then to Wartrace(40 mi south of Nashville) where he got away from them. After Sterling came home from the war, he lived with his 1st wife Elizabeth Ward for about a year; They separated and Elizabeth married Philip Seiber in 1866 and Sterling married Margaret Wilson(b/9/9/1844), d/o Abraham and Sarah WILSON in 1867. Sterling moved from the Beech Fork area in 1890 to Pouplar Creek, near Oak Ridge. Sterling buried in Gibbs#2 Cemetery on Marlow Road, approximately 2/10 mi from Hwy 61, near Oak Ridge TN. (5) Celia WILSON was born about 1836. She was married by Mose Phillips July 11, 1867 to Andrew Mckamey from Frost Bottom. Andrew was born in 1847, the son of Andrew McKamey and Nancy Bunch. Celia's husband, Andrew, had a brother named James. Celia and Andrew's children: James, Sterl, Abe, Sarah and Nancy. Andrew and Celia buried in McGhee Cemetery, above Stony Fork School. Andrew never left the New River Area because of his family ties to grandparents and his mother (family story). Celia's parents are buried in Bullock Cemetery. (7) Jonathan "Ramsey" WILSON was born about 1840 and died 15 May 1928. He first married Sarah Phillips, daughter of Moses and Susannah (Ward) Phillips. Mose and Susannah lived near the Red Oak Gap on the Anderson County side of Red Oak Mtn. Ramsey and Sarah's children: Viney, Sabray, Elizabeth, Martin L., Isaac, Catharine, Columbus, Mike, Louisa, Naoma(b/1879), Sarah and Ramsey buried in Bullock Cemetery. (7h) Mike WILSON married Lena Miller, daughter of Timothy and Peggie (Daugherty) Miller. ........................ (7i) Louisa WILSON was first married to Will Harness. He died and her second husband was Andy Poore. He was killed in the mines and buried on Stinking Creek above LaFollette, Tenn. Louisa moved to West Virginia and lived with her children. Ramsey's second wife was Mary Ward. She was the sister of Ferdan Ward (1873-1939) who married Sarah P. Byrge and Creasy Phillips. Mary was also a sister to Jane Ward, Joe Hyle Ward's second wife. Ramsey and Mary Ward's children: Luther, Ferdan, Evert, Fisher (Fish), Albert, According to Ramsey's son, Luther Wilson who lives at Briceville, Tenn (Jan 1992) Ramsey was buried in the Bullock Cemetery on the mountain above Stoney Fork. His headstone is a fieldrock with the letters JR chiseled on it. After Ramsey died in 1928, Mary married again to Charlie Miles (b.1889). When she died she was buried in the Miners Circle Cemetery near Briceville, Tenn.

Nancy was born about 1859, and was buried in the Roundrock Baptist Church Cemetery in 1922. Isaac and Nancy's CHILDREN: Liney, Martha, Charlie, Sam, Amanda and Susie. Amanda married John Phillips, son of Claibourne Phillips and Susie married Cleveland C. Jones II, son of Jimmie Jones on Red Oak Mtn. Nancy married a second time to Frank Phillips, father of Mike and John Phillips.
